Surprisingly, a diamond’s colour actually refers to its absence of colour. A chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond has no hue, like a drop of pure water. Graded on a spectrum created by the GIA, a diamond’s colour ranges from D to Z. It measures the degree of colorlessness by comparing a stone under controlled lighting and precise viewing conditions to master stones of established colour value.

All Ecksand diamonds are ethically sourced. Natural and lab-grown diamonds above 0.30 carat are GIA- and IGI-certified, respectively. Diamonds below 0.30 carat are Ecksand-certified in compliance with GIA grading standards.

Our curated selection of natural gemstones and pearls are ethically sourced, so their color may vary slightly from one Ecksand piece to another.

All of our gemstones are natural, whether you choose lab-grown or natural diamonds to personalize your jewel.

Crafted for lifetime wear in our green Montreal atelier, each piece uses 100 % recycled gold reclaimed from post-consumer and industrial sources or sustainable platinum refined via low-impact processes, ensuring eco-conscious durability and heirloom quality.
