A Journey, An Instinct

In the beginning, there was little to suggest that Yoan Gehant and Erica Bianchini, both only twenty-one, were about to tie their destinies to the world of Canadian fine jewelry. The spark that would ignite Ecksand began beneath the shifting horizons of Tahiti, where Yoan first held a Tahitian pearl. Struck by its unpredictable grace, he recognized in it a profound dialogue between raw strength and delicate refinement.

Upon returning to Montreal, this fascination evolved into a shared vision. In Erica, that vision found its creative conscience—a mind drawn instinctively to form, detail, and meaning. Fueled by the restless, bold spirit of youth, the pair began to weave these two worlds together.

It was here that this vision manifested. For Ecksand, 620 Cathcart transcends being a mere place of business; it is the Maison's true home. The journey within these walls began with the opening of the Ecksand fine jewelry atelier in Montreal, and has since evolved into the permanent residence of the Maison's flagship boutique.

Today, 620 Cathcart serves as our comprehensive Headquarters, where every single department, from design and production to administration, operates in unison. This integrated presence allows Ecksand to serve as both a pillar of the building’s history and a creative catalyst, proudly supporting the very community from which we draw our deepest inspiration.
