Tips and tricks for finding your perfect fit.
How Should My Ring Fit?
What is the perfect fit? Ideally, a ring that fits comfortably and snugly—but not too snug—on your finger. The tricky thing is that our fingers fluctuate in size throughout the day (and the seasons) for a variety of reasons. With so many variables in the mix, it can seem a little intimidating to figure out your perfect ring size. To help, we put together a list of some of the most important things to consider when determining how your ring should fit. Read on for our tips on how to find your best ring size and fit.
Time of day
Time of day can play a role in how tight your ring feels. Don’t be alarmed if your ring feels tight in the morning. This is totally normal! When the ring is on your hand, press it up from the bottom. See that space? It is called the De Jour. Ideally you want it to be a couple millimeters.
A hot, humid day might make your ring feel a little more snug than usual. While a chilly winter day could leave your ring feeling loose. That’s because cooler temperatures cause our fingers to shrink while heat and humidity can cause a bit of swelling.
You’ve probably noticed how some days your ring feels tighter or looser than others. Believe it or not, your finger size can change as much as half of a size in one day! Not to mention life events like weight loss and pregnancy which can change your ring size as well. That’s why we suggest choosing a ring that fits snug enough so that it won’t fall off, but loose enough so it has a little bit of wiggle.
Ecksand Tip: Before getting your ring sized try to avoid sodium and stay hydrated.
The Perfect Fit For You
Ring fit really comes down to personal preference. Consider things like if you are often fidgeting or playing with your ring. If this is the case, you will want to choose a looser fit.
All that to say, your ring size is bound to change throughout your life. It’s all about finding a fit that can move with you.
