With our confidential FedEx priority fully-insured parcel, your Ecksand order is shipped to you safely, always gift wrapped in Ecksand’s signature packaging.

WILL I BE CHARGED SALES TAX ON MY PURCHASE?

Ecksand offers its engagement rings, wedding rings, and fine jewelry to customers across the globe. For orders shipped in Canada, the product prices displayed at checkout are inclusive of the federal provincial tax according to the province the order is shipped to. For orders shipped in other regions, the product prices displayed at checkout are exclusive of all taxes and duties.

Taxes are calculated according to your billing address. These are the tax rates charged to your Ecksand order depending on the Canadian provinces:

We pride ourselves on offering world-wide complimentary shipping with the purchase of an Ecksand jewel.

For Fine Jewelry items, your order is shipped within 3-4 weeks.

For bridal rings (Engagement Rings and Wedding Rings) and custom jewelry, each are made to order to adjust the design to any of your specific requests. Handcrafted in our atelier by our master jewellers, you get an ethical high-quality jewel shipped within 5-6 weeks.

HOW CAN I CHANGE THE DELIVERY ADDRESS AFTER I PLACED AN ORDER?

Easy Returns and Exchanges

WHAT IS THE ECKSAND RETURN POLICY?

Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we’ll do everything to ensure that your Ecksand jewel surpasses your expectations. If you need to return your Ecksand order, we’ve got you covered. 

Returns are accepted within 10 days from the date of availability (total refund excludes a 5% restocking fee). Beyond this time frame, all sales are considered final, and no returns will be accepted. Before returning your jewel, see if your order qualifies for a return below.

Items that do not qualify for Return are: 

  • Improperly packaged items
  • Damaged and used items
  • Items that have been altered, engraved, or resized, before or after pickup or delivery
  • Custom or personalized items that have been altered in any way (including the alteration of the stones, the design, or the engraving) 
  • Items previously exchanged
  • Items missing their certification or paperwork
  • Items over $15 000 CDN in value
  • Items returned 10 days after the date of availability (date indicated as "DELIVERY" at the top right of your invoice)
  • Items sold through Ecksand’s Sample Sale
  • Eternity rings
  • Wedding rings (While returns are not accepted, resizes are possible on select items. See our Resize policy here)
  • Engagement rings (While returns are not accepted, exchanges are possible on select items. See our exchange policy below)
  • When "final sale" is mentioned on the item page.

Ecksand Diamond Engagement Rings only qualify for an exchange of the ring setting with a fee, depending on the new ring style selected. The diamond set in the ring is final sale. Please note that in the event of a return or an exchange, a flat-discounted rate of CA$130 will be charged for two-way fully insured overnight shipping with FedEx.

HOW DO I RETURN MY ECKSAND JEWEL?

It’s safe and easy to return your Ecksand jewel to our atelier. Both online orders and in-person purchases at the Montréal Ecksand store can be returned either at the Montréal store or by mail following our return policy.

When you prepare your Ecksand order for return, pack it safely with all the documentation that came with the original order before dropping it off at our boutique during business hours.

Want to schedule a return by mail?

HOW CAN I EXCHANGE MY ECKSAND JEWEL?

Thinking about another Ecksand jewel? No worries, you can exchange selected Ecksand jewels within 10 days of availability as indicated on your invoice, free of charge. We will provide you with a store credit to place a new order.

IS IT FREE TO ENGRAVE MY WEDDING RING?

At Ecksand, we are passionate about creating rings that will represent your love, now and forever. This is why we provide our engraving service, free of charge, so you can customize your Ecksand wedding ring with a personal touch. Through our engraving service, you can add up to 15 characters of the message of your choice to your engagement or wedding ring, free of charge. Please note that we cannot accept returns on any engraved jewels.

Free engraving does not apply to items included in Ecksand’s Sample Sale.

Free resize

IS IT FREE TO RESIZE MY RING?

Our team wants your Ecksand ring to feel and look great for a lifetime! That’s why we offer your first resize free of charge*. Our resize includes a cleaning service in which your ring will be polished to perfection. Enjoy your ring like it's brand-new again.

Additional information

*First free resize applies to Ecksand Engagement Rings. Conditions may apply for Ecksand Fine Jewelry and Wedding Rings, given that certain styles are not resizable.

If a second resize is required, a fee will be charged.

Please note that our free resizing service does not apply to Final Sale items. Any jewel that has been resized is not returnable.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HAVE MY RING RESIZED?

We resize your ring in our low-emission atelier in downtown Montreal, Canada, within 21 business days.

Leaving town next week to pop the question on a romantic getaway? We can resize your ring in 5 business days for a rush fee of CA$150.

HOW DO I FIGURE OUT THE RIGHT RING SIZE FOR ME?

To know your ring size, you can use the Ecksand size guide available here. However, if you’re not sure or don’t have a ring that fits you perfectly, you can go to a jewelry store near you and they will give you your ring size.

WHEN IS MY ORDER GOING TO BE READY?

When you place an order at Ecksand, we send you a confirmation email with the details of your order. Once your order is confirmed, we email you an invoice where the “READY-FOR” date at the top right-hand corner informs you about the date of readiness of your order.

Picking up the order at the Ecksand Montreal store? Our Ecksand experts will contact you once your order is ready to schedule a pick-up.

Is your order delivered to you? When your order is ready, we ship it to you with our free FedEx priority fully-insured shipping service.

After-sale Services

CAN I GET A THIRD-PARTY APPRAISAL?

Here at Ecksand, we offer the possibility to do a third-party appraisal for a fee, to ensure that your jewel is protected forever. A third-party appraisal gives you the opportunity to know that your jewel’s value is near to what you paid for it and allows you to insure your jewel for its full replacement value. An official appraisal makes you eligible for the full financial investment depending on your insurance company, should your jewel ever be lost, stolen or damaged.

CAN I ADJUST THE LENGTH OF MY BRACELET OR NECKLACE?

At Ecksand, we take pride in our ethical, handcrafted jewels. That’s why it’s important to us that you receive a jewel that’s the right fit for you! If your bracelet or necklace is too long, we can shorten the length for a fee of CA $10 per inch. If you find that your bracelet or necklace is too small, or too short, we can extend it for a fee of CA $50 per inch.

HOW DOES ECKSAND SAFEGUARD MY CREDIT CARD AND PERSONAL INFORMATION?

On the Ecksand Online Store, every purchase is made with maximum security thanks to full advanced encryption services (SSL) which encrypt the connection between your browser and Cloudflare, and from Cloudflare to your server. We only use protected connections, as demonstrated by the "https" URL prefix and the lock symbol that appears in the browser's address bar.

To safeguard your credit card purchases, you will always be asked to enter your CVV code for every order whether by Phone or through the Online Store. Our Payments department may carry out anti-fraud checks before approving the transaction; they may contact you for further details before confirming the order.

Lifetime Warranty

DOES MY ECKSAND JEWELRY COME WITH A WARRANTY?

Ecksand was founded on the premise that jewelry is forever. So it’s no wonder that our jewels can deliver a lifetime of beauty. That’s why at Ecksand we offer our special Ecksand Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty to all Ecksand customers on all our products.

*The Lifetime Warranty does not extend to products included in Ecksand’s sample sale.

WHAT DOES ECKSAND LIFETIME CRAFTSMANSHIP (E.L.C.) WARRANTY ENTAIL?

The basics covered by E.L.C. Warranty extend to all fine jewelry, including but not limited to Ecksand engagement rings. The E.L.C. Warranty covers all defects incurred during the craftsmanship process, i.e. craftsmanship defects. In order to be considered a craftsmanship defect, our jewellers must assess that in fact, this defect was a result of craftsmanship and not of normal wear and tear for example. The E.L.C. Warranty is a lifetime of coverage on all Ecksand jewelry. If the damage to your jewelry is due to a craftsmanship defect, Ecksand will repair or replace the parts in question free of charge. In some circumstances, you will have to pay a fee. In exceptional circumstances only will Ecksand replace the entire item free of charge.

Please note that our E.L.C. Warranty is no longer available on Ecksand jewels that have been altered by companies other than Ecksand.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER SERVICES INCLUDED IN THE E.L.C. WARRANTY?

To make sure our engagement rings are perfectly comfortable for you to wear every day, we offer a free* first resize on your Ecksand Engagement Ring.

IS THE E.L.C. WARRANTY ALSO APPLICABLE ON CUSTOM RINGS?

The E.L.C. Warranty covers every Ecksand jewelry piece, including but not limited to custom rings unless the diamonds or gems are provided by the customer.

WHAT ABOUT CENTER STONES?

Center stones or diamonds are not subject to the lifetime warranty. We encourage our customers to get their jewelry insured by their personal insurance. If a center stone is loose, Ecksand customers can bring their jewelry in for a complimentary check up. The warranty does not cover the loss of a center stone. In the case of a loss, Ecksand customers are invited to contact their personal insurance.

WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS I MUST MEET TO BENEFIT THE E.L.C. WARRANTY AND MAINTAIN ITS COVERAGE?

The E.L.C. is available only to the individual who directly purchased the jewelry from Ecksand. To benefit from the warranty and the services it provides, Ecksand requires: (i) a proof of purchase; (ii) that all prior services on your jewelry have been done at Ecksand. Maintenance, repair, upgrading, sizing, or other services performed by an individual or company other than Ecksand after your purchase from Ecksand will void the E.L.C. Warranty. In order to maintain coverage of the E.L.C. Warranty, Ecksand requires a regular cleaning and inspection every year starting from the time of your original purchase.

Aftercare

DOES ECKSAND OFFER CLEANING AND POLISHING AFTER PURCHASE?

Our Ecksand jewels are so versatile you can wear them with everything, every day. That’s why we offer our customers a first-time free* cleaning and polishing for all of our bridal rings (Engagement and Wedding rings) instead of our standard fee of CA$130+tax for gold, and CA$170+tax for platinum. Renew your love for your bridal rings and receive them straight from the atelier, like they’re brand-new again.

*Please note that our free first-time cleaning services apply to Engagement and Wedding rings only. In the event that you require another cleaning, or you’d like to clean your Fine Jewelry, a CA$130+tax or CA$170+tax fee will be charged. Our Aftercare services do not extend to products included in Ecksand’s Sample Sale.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY ECKSAND JEWEL?

Keep your jewelry in great condition without the use of any harsh chemicals to keep our water supply clean and your jewels sparkling with happiness. Cleaning your Ecksand jewelry at home has never been easier!

Step One: Grab your supplies. These are easy supplies you’ll find at home - no venturing to the store is required. You need:

  • Soft bristle toothbrush
  • Eco-friendly mild soap
  • A clean empty cup

Step Two: Mix warm water with a few drops of soap in the cup.

Step Three: Dip the toothbrush in the mixture and gently brush your diamond or gemstone engagement ring, making sure to go under and around the stones and setting. You can repeat this process 2-3 times for extra brilliance. Lastly, rinse your jewel with warm water and pat it dry with a soft microfiber cloth.

Worth noting: Do not attempt this over a sink with an open drain to avoid the risk of dropping the jewelry into the drain.

Repurposing

CAN I REDESIGN AN OLD PIECE OF JEWELRY?

You’ve had a few pieces of jewelry sitting in your jewelry box for long enough! The beauty about fine jewelry and why we love this world so much is because it’s one of the few industries where the value of the materials is noble enough to recycle. We adore giving a new life to old jewels and gems. Keeping the sentimental attributes and value are two elements that we pride ourselves on doing quite splendidly. Our Ecksand atelier works with jewels from all across the world to reintegrate into new modernized designs. WILL I RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THE METAL AND OTHER STONES THAT WE CANNOT USE IN A NEW DESIGN?

There are certain elements of a piece of jewelry you own that you love and certain things you love less. What to do? Our Ecksand team of jewellers and designers will assess the piece and see what is usable in a newly designed jewel and what is not. If there are materials that are not usable but still hold value we will be able to apply credit toward your newly designed Ecksand jewel.

DO YOU PURCHASE OLD JEWELRY?

At Ecksand, we love to recycle! It’s a sustainable way of doing business and it makes us proud of what we do at Ecksand. You can send your old pieces of jewelry to our headquarters via our shipping service or bring them in at the Montreal downtown store. There, we will assess the jewel’s value, and contact you with further information on how you can receive Ecksand store credit.

Can I send my old jewel or loose stone to Ecksand via mail?

Our low-emission Ecksand atelier works with jewels from all across the world to reintegrate into new modernized designs. Your loose stones or old jewelry piece can be sent to our workshop for inspection and assessment. You can also drop in the Ecksand Montreal store during our opening hours.

DOES ECKSAND ALSO OFFER A DIAMOND UPGRADE SERVICE?

At Ecksand, we offer a lifetime diamond upgrade service on GIA-certified round natural untreated and unenhanced diamonds. You are welcome to bring back the ring you bought from Ecksand for a diamond upgrade service with no restocking fee applied.

The Ecksand Diamonds

Where are Ecksand’s natural diamonds from?

As a first-tier dealer, we acquire our diamonds straight from the mines and cutting facilities we have strong relationships with. The mines we hand-select our diamonds from are located in Botswana, Canada, and Australia. These mines are 100% conflict-free mines that comply with the UN resolutions and the Kimberley Process scheme. Ecksand only sources diamonds from mines that are governed by strict, formal labour laws that ensure appropriate work conditions and prohibit child labour, among other standards, which ensure each Ecksand diamond is entirely ethically sourced. We go beyond the Kimberley Process to ensure we source stones from suppliers that actively take part in social economic redistribution, such as building hospitals or reinvesting in land conservation.

So what is a GIA certification? The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the world’s authority on natural diamonds. Its “4C’s” have become the universal method for assessing the quality of a diamond. GIA-certified diamonds have undergone the GIA’s meticulous grading process. When choosing your Ecksand ring, you can select a conflict-free natural diamond that comes with a GIA certification. This certification allows you to know the exact characteristics of your diamond.

All Ecksand natural diamonds are untreated and unenhanced. To maintain our high standards of quality, we only select eye-clean natural diamonds with an impeccable cut.

LAB-GROWN DIAMONDS: WHAT DOES IGI-CERTIFIED MEAN?

At Ecksand, we offer lab-grown diamonds to cater to the varied preferences of our clients. To maintain our high standards of quality, we only select eye-clean lab-grown diamonds with impeccable cuts. As a renowned Canadian jewelry brand, we pride ourselves in maintaining the highest level of transparency about the true characteristics of your lab-grown diamond. This is why all of our lab-grown diamonds are IGI-, GIA-, or Ecksand-certified.

The International Gemological Institute (IGI) is renowned for grading lab-created diamonds. An IGI-certified diamond has undergone the IGI’s meticulous grading process to assess its true quality.

DOES ECKSAND OFFER RECYCLED DIAMONDS?

At Ecksand, we offer recycled diamonds to cater to the varied preferences of our clients. We offer recycled diamonds as an option for Ecksand engagement rings and in the creation of custom jewelry pieces to ensure you receive the perfect jewel. To maintain our high standards of quality, we only select eye-clean recycled diamonds with impeccable cuts. All Ecksand recycled diamonds are repolished, to meet these high standards, before being used to create new pieces of jewelry.

DOES ECKSAND OFFER FINANCING FOR THE US?

We offer financing for those in the United States through Affirm. Once approved, enter the purchase information, after which you will receive a virtual credit card. HOW DO I USE THE AFFIRM APP?

The Affirm app is a financing option that allows you to buy now and pay over time instead of paying the full amount up front.
